Recalls
Ever have to bring your vehicle in for a recall? I have a couple of times but nothing major. Have to drop it off tonight for the dealer to inspect it.

Yeah, you don't want to ignore anything to do with your brakes.

Re: Recalls
brake light kept coming on, had no clue until I called them and they told me about the recall. Nice not even a letter in the mail.

Re: Recalls
Gosh, I can't believe they didn't send a letter!
I had something but it was something really stupid that didn't really need to be fixed so I just let it go. I can't even remember what it was now.

They don't send a letter most of the time. And if you're not the original owner it would be surprising if you ever saw one.

That really surprises me because Jay gets them kind of often on the older plow trucks that he has purchased used.

My husband is a mechanic & most people read about it or hear about it on the news & come in & ask if their vehicle is part of the recall.

Well, I learned something. I guess he just has odd luck with these trucks that he gets letters.

Maybe some companies are better about it. We've never gotten a recall notice. And our last 3 cars were bought new. But all of them had a recall of one kind or another.

CeCe, what does your old man turn wrenches on? My wife is the warranty admin at an International dealer.

He's worked almost every dealership over the years except Ford & Chevy. They get notified but some of the customers apparently not so much. Not sure if it's because some of them bought the car used & that affects the paper trail or what.

I know that GM and Mitsubishi send postcards out. I usually these companies come through the mail. I rarely see other companies, unless they are in a regular envelope.
I have had a 3 different Ford Mustangs over the last 13 years. Bought 2 new. Never had a recall, and have serviced all of them at the dealership, so i would have been notified. Love my stangs

That reminds me how much I hated driving in San Francisco. Especially stopped at the top of a nearly perpendicular hill with a stick shift car.

Actually, the VW did not go unnoticed and in 1968 when Bullitt was filmed, there were probably more VW Bugs in SF than anywhere else on the planet outside of Germany.
BTW, I was driving the beige ubiquitous bug in SF in 1970. Had to put it in low gear to pull some of those hills.

I'm not sure you got the point of my comment based on the clip I posted. It was the same car they passed over and over. There were probably a few other makes and models they used as stand in-ins too.

Re: Recalls
The 40th anniversary edition is the one i gave to my sis.. still technically mine LOL... that is a sharp car... BUT.. i couldnt afford the GT at the time.
This one is a GT. The GT's are heavier, have a wider wheel base, wider axel, and a rear stabilizer.. with the V6 do not. So, in the V6 you have a tendency to slide a lot. The GTs, although a lot more powerful, have much better traction. My friend has a green 2008 Bullit after this movie, and it is really... really nice. But still.. I LOVE my 2012! The absolute best car i have ever ever owned. Knock on wood, I intend on keeping this car til its wheels fall off LOL
