It is so dated now, but at the time it was relevant to show ppl how this disease came about and how the officials didn't know shit about dealing with it.
What gets me is that they would not test for Hepatitis B in donated blood (which can cause cirrhosis of the liver and death after years). It was cheaper not to test for that, which was an indicator that HIV might also be present. Then they fought testing for HIV antibodies when a test was made.
So the U.S. health agencies were responsible for thousands of deaths thru neglect.
I got involved with AIDS causes in the mid 80s so I have seen much of that stupidity and prejudice involved with the disease. I hate teaching the AIDS class any more because everyone outside of school kids should know everything they need to know about it. But, the FDA still runs on prejudice instead of science so what can you expect.
