Have you ever, or do you tend to, experience any kind of sudden/unexplained weight loss?

Sudden weight loss.
I got on the scale over the weekend and am 15 lbs. lighter than I was the last time I weighed myself probably a month or so ago. The kicker is that I haven't been to the gym in a minute, and while I probably have been eating solid foods less, I haven't gone particularly easy on the soda's and carbs. That was odd.

No and please keep an eye on that. I won't be the first person to tell you that it can be a sympton of something serious (as if you didn't already know).
Actually, I have experienced sudden weight loss although it wasn't unexpected. When I was about 17, I had four badly impacted wisdom teeth removed and I probably dropped about 20 lbs. And no, it wasn't that the teeth weighed 5 lbs each.

15 pounds in a month is too rapid even if you were working on a goal. I'd be looking for the source, maybe monitor more closely and see if it stabilizes with conscious effort.

Re: Sudden weight loss.
I can remember maybe once or twice when I was younger dropping some unexplained weight that I eventually put back on, but not recently and it's definitely not a recurring thing.

Mystery solved! Chris wasn't holding his son this last time as he usually does.

When I've lost weight, it wasn't "unexplained" or sudden. I pretty much knew how it happened.

Sudden yes but not really unexplained. After I started working at my job and I was constantly on the move walking back and forth. After about a month I was about 10-15 lbs lighter too.

If it's been sudden or unexplained, it wasn't that extreme. No more than ten pounds, max. And I could pretty much account for why.

Just for the record, Chris, you didn't hit an old gypsy woman with your car, did you?

Re: Sudden weight loss.
Chris--that might be worth a call to your doctor--he/she should at least order some blood work on you in the way of a thyroid panel. Thyroid stuff/hormones pretty much control your metabolism, so if that's out of whack, then they need to find out why and what the underlying cause is. Do you feel tired at all, or is your energy level the same?

Re: Sudden weight loss.
I forgot the last time I had a drastic weight loss I thought this was so neat, the next day I found I had lost another 10 lbs and then I realized it was the scale. New batteries made me fat again!

Must've been the big, blow-out crap you took after the anesthesia worked its magic and then worked its way through the rest of you. . . it's gotta come out somehow--pick an end!

Not really. Not eating solid food for almost 2 weeks doesn't leave much to get rid of. Most I've ever lost from a good dump was around 5lbs

2 weeks? Holy crap, no way I'm having all of mine taken out at once, one day is bad enough.

Just about. And they were so deep they put me in the hospital. One visit was all I was getting and I don't think one at a time would have hurt much less.
