Tney need to tie this low life to a pole and give him 50 lashes:
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police are questioning a suspect in the brutal attack and robbery of an elderly woman in a Greenwich Village.
Authorities say the man may also be responsible for four other robberies involving women both young and old.
The suspect was caught on surveillance video in the most recent attack, which happened on Sunday in Grammercy Park. In that case, police say he used a gun to steal a 22-year-old woman's purse.
But the incident that really drew attention to this case was the vicious assault on an 85-year-old woman in an elevator late Saturday night.
That incident was also caught on video, which shows the suspect cornering Yvonne Sherwell in the elevator and then shoving her to the floor before stealing her purse and a ring given to her by her severely ill husband.
"You land there, and you're terrified," she said. "I didn't know what he was going to do. But luckily, quickly, he got the bag off my shoulder. And then he looked at the ring, and he got the ring. But it happened so quickly, but the moment it happens, you're absolutely terrified."
She asked for the ring back, but the robber coldly said no.
Police say the suspect also used a gun in robberies in the East Village and Far Rockaway.
