Food Macaroni and Cheese: baked or stove top?

Post by Chris Fri Dec 21, 2012 7:17 am

Macaroni and Cheese: baked or stove top? Macaroni-and-cheese

How do you prefer your Mac and Cheese: baked or instant/stove top? And how do you generally make it?

Home made, i.e. baked. I'd have to be very hunger to eat that crap that comes in a box.

Baked of course, but I don't bake so I only fix the stovetop stuff.

I do most of my cooking in the microwave. (and occasionally I get some of the baked mac & cheese from the grocery deli and reheat it)

You can make "homemade" mac and cheese in the microwave.

But wouldn't I need a propane torch to brown it on top? blank stare @ you

I like the brown crust on baked Mac & Cheese.

That's certainly your call but if given the choice between from scratch mac & cheese in the microwave w/o crispy cheese and crap from a box...it's not even a contest.

I don't care for instant mac & cheese from the box. I much prefer homemade and baked.

    BAKED.

I haven't had that instant shit since I was a kid. And quite frankly, I never called it macaroni and cheese. I always know the REAL mac and cheese came out of the oven.
