Re: The Inauguration
I might catch a few bits, but largely...no. I was going to go to the inaugraration but those plans fell through. Besides, it's too damn cold outside anyway.

I may catch some of it but not really into "ceremonial" type stuff.

No. One good thing, though. A whole bunch of Republicans are MIA for this.

I'd rather have the hair on my arms, individually plucked out, than watch that pomp and circumstance.

I didn't watch, but seen pics of Obama and Michelle online. Michelle looked great. I loved her coat, and the bangs went well with her.

Exactly, fiscal cliff??? how much did the security alone cost? then they have HOW many balls afterward?
Save the freakin money and have him swear on the bible in the oval office... on tv... without the ceremony... it isnt like he wasnt in already. I understand last time was historic being the first black president, but this time... guess what... we need the freakin money!
There are sooo many damn ways we could be saving money and they just keep spend spend spending it---BOTH parties

Re: The Inauguration
Heard the speech which was pretty fucking awesome. Glad I didn't have my coffee cup in my hand when he mentioned Stonewall. Never expected that. Now let's see this get done.
As for unnecessary expense we should be more upset that members of the house & senate get their salary & benefits for LIFE after serving one term. So in some cases you can serve 2 years & it's lifetime benefits. Let's also remember they technically only work "part time". So there are plenty of ways to pinch a penny that would be FAR move effective.

For all the effort to not make this Republic a Monarchy the founding fathers FAILED. Somehow the elected politicians have become the ENTITLED royalty. Srsly, they talk about my social security as an entitlement, yet they get paid for for life for doing nothing! Time to oil up the Guillotine!

I saw about an hour of it. Saw Obama make his speech, then I left the house.
