I'm 100% in favor of vaccinations but this is an interesting article for people who might have doubts.

I am not 100% in favor of vaccinations because they never work for anybody in my family, my brother got the chickenpox vaccine as a kid and got TWO severe cases of chickenpox but it was the SHOT that about killed him. I have never been vaccinated for measles, and I have never had measles and I'm glad I never was because it would be just this family's luck I'd get it AFTER the shot.

The minute you stop vaccinating is the minute the virus will make an outbreak.

Sometimes I think we may add some unnecessary things to some of them. Any derivative of mercury concerns me. But the truth is vaccines save lives. There would be far fewer people on our planet & more living with the permanent side effects of disease without them.

Dunno. I had the real stuff before the vaccines but these diseases killed more people then any vaccines ever did so you are taking more risks without them..

i never heard of having two cases of chickenpox... i thought you could only get it once because one you get it, you have antibodies to fight it.

what scares me about vaccines is that some experts say there is a correlation between the vaccines and the increase in autism. but like so much in life... u just dont know what the possibilities are.

Ppl who do not vaccinate their children have every right to do so... however, they also need to take precautions with others. There was a case here where an unvaccinated child who was being watched after school was a carrier. The baby sitter also watched an infant, who got measles from the the other child. So i think if the parents should take precautions to keep others safe if choosing not to vaccinate their own children

We always heard that too, that once you had them you couldn't get them anymore, apparently somebody lied. I had 2 cases of chickenpox too, though my case was understandable in that the first one was so minor, we thought it was a carpet burn. But my brother was covered in them and too weak to move, but he and I BOTH got them again, and he got his just as I was getting over mine the second time around. Though I think it's safe to say that after that last bout, we're not at risk for a third round, at least I sure as hell hope not.

You know that chickenpox - herpes zoster - is what comes back as shingles. So, lots of ppl get the second round as they get older and their immune system weakens. Maybe you had a lapse in your immune system as a child.

That is why older ppl (ME? Shocked) get bad cases of flu so often, and the flu vaccine is not as effective because their immune system after the vaccination does not produce the antibodies to increase immunity.

Immunity is not created by the vaccine, it is created by ones own body reacting to the vaccine. Which is why ppl who are immunosuppressed (AIDS, chemo or certain meds) have such problems with communicable diseases even if they get vaccinated. Immunosuppressed ppl with TB often do not show they have it with the PPD test, because that relies on the presence of antibodies.
