Do you care if singers lip sync?

Does it bother you when, during a live performance, a singer lip syncs? How about those singers who lip sync the vast majority of their live performances?

I don't pay for their concerts anyway so it doesn't matter much to me, live doesn't sound as good anyway.

I'm not paying to see it in an actual concert but the recent hand flapping over Beyonce is ridiculous. And I'm not a Beyonce fan. But in those instances it isn't a big deal.

Not really. Although I do appreciate it when a singer CAN sing live and sound good.

I don't really care if they lipsync at events like inaugurations or whatnot. Although if it's a concert I'm paying to get into, they better not be lip-syncing.

I don't care if they do it sporadically, but acts like Britney Spears who lip sync just about every "live" performance are basically frauds.

I don't know why they made such a big deal out of Beyonce others have done it.

Naw it doesn't really bother me, as long as I'm getting a good show/performance out of it...like my fave can bring.

It would bother me if was a concert performance that I paid to see. Not the end of the world but in general live performances should be live.

It all depends on what kind of performance it is. If there's gonna be lots of movement and choreography, then its fine. The Beyonce thing is annoyingly blown out of proportion and it's so NOT a big deal but I would have liked her performance a little better if it was live.

Doesn't bother me if I can see that the performance was busy and eclectic enough to pretty much require it. I agree with Marc though that when singers do it so much that they have a reputation for it, that's a problem. Every performance doesn't need to be a high octane extravaganza. The performers who all the time go that route usually do it to get out of live singing.

Far as the Beyonce/National Anthem thing goes, everyone really needs to STFU about that. She's more than proven herself as a capable live singer during her career, so she's entitled to a lipped moment every now and then. About 50% of SSB performances are pre-recorded.

I guess that's where our definition of "live" is different. Basically my definition of live is having the person right in front of me.... that's (for the most part) what I pay for is also.
