Jon Benet's Parents were indicted

Its been all over the news and reported in people magazine that The ramseys were indicted in 1999 for child abuse resulting in death. This sentence is 45 years.. but the DA chose not to prosecute.

Do you think that this was a case of rich people getting away with murder? Or an incompetent police force that mishandled evidence?

How much have you read about the case? and who do u think murdered her?

As I recall, the whole thing was mishandled from the beginning so could they have gotten away with murder? Sure it's possible. Is it possible they got preferential treatment from the DA's office despite the grand jury voting to indict? Sure, but it's just as possible that there really wasn't enough admissible evidence to take the case to trial. This may be one of those cases that is never solved.

I think Jonbenet's brother killed her out of nothing more than childhood-jealousy, and the parents were covering up for him.

Admittedly, I know very little about this case, that said a lot of people say they think the mom ACCIDENTALLY killed Jon Benet, okay somebody explain to me how you ACCIDENTALLY murder a 6 year old?

well.. supposedly she wet the bed... and someone also fed her pineapples during the night-- but the parents denied that. I COULD understand pulling her and her pulling back... her hitting her head and dying--that would be accidental. However, she had a garrote around her neck that strangled her. someone had to twist the string with a paint brush until the brush broke. THAT is really hard to understand. The ransom note was 3 pages long, asked for $118,000 which is what John Ramsey got as a christmas bonus... and the pen and paper the note was written with were the Ramseys'. What kidnapper would wake the kid, feed her pinapple, sit around writing a 3 page letter with the pen/paper from the house--- then kill the girl he was ransoming? I hope someone gets tortured for every child murder ever committed.

I've always believed it was someone who lived in the house. I think the garrote & that whole scene was part of an elaborately staged coverup. I do think her death was probably accidental but these people were so wealthy & prominent a lot of mistakes were made during the investigation. Doubt the truth will ever be revealed unless there's some "death bed" type confession about what happened that night.
