Who here is not a parent?

Just for the record, who here has not had kids yet, and is still in a position to do so, and do you want to have kids some day?

I have none, and would like to have some one day, but do not want to be married, so that eliminates my chances.

What are you, 22? Don't discount the fact that you're not the same person now as you will be when you're 30. At least I hope not because that discounts the possibility of improvement. And I'm not making a snide "Alan" comment. Most people do get better with age. So try not to use phrases like "eliminates my chances." Maybe one day you'll be out from under your parent's roof supporting yourself. Even if you never "know a man" the urge to be a mother may make you want to adopt. Just some "fatherly" advice.

I am a stepfather, pretty much caretaker to a stepdaughter from age 13 to 18 when we pushed her off on her boyfriend, whom she is still with after giving us two grandsons. I am now a great grandfather.

I have cared for other kids professionally, mostly pre-adolescent to adolescent boys and on one job actually took care of intellectually disabled babies, which are the same as any other baby up to two years. So, I have been a surrogate parent to many kids.

I don't plan to have any kids at this time. I'd be in my 80s before they became a teen, the time kids become the most interesting (and the most difficult).

I don't have any kids. I'm not all that crazy about them, but I do want one or two one day and although it's ideal, I don't have to be married in order to have them. I'll be 30 this year and I always thought 30 was the perfect age to start having children. I'll start thinking about it seriously within the next 5 years or so.

For some reason, Steve Martin didn't let that stop him. First time daddy at 67, a real what the hell? moment.

But they'll probably be coming in the next few years. No rush here, just fighting Father Time and whatnot.

my best friend from childhood and i decided that at 25 we would get pregnant together... i decided that was too young and said 30 cause i still had things i wanted to do. at 30 i postponed again.. and said if i dont find the right guy by 35 im not having any.

im 38. im done.
