when my car got flooded last year... other than that.. probably when i was a kid... we usually didnt lock our doors.. so the window thing wasnt necessary

I have on several occasions thruout my life crawled thru windows - usually to get in when locked out of my apartment. But most places here on Miami Beach have jalousie windows - little strips of glass that you crank open - so crawling thru is not an option unless you want to take out several strips.
Once, in the '70s I had to go thru a window in another person's apartment to find the source of a leak that was coming thru the ceiling. I knew they had a Russian Wolfhound and was a little worried about that (dogs you know from outside can become territorial when you invade their space) but Maggie just raised her head and looked at me and didn't even get up.

When I was a kid of about 12. I used to forget my key all the time and my mom was at work so I would jimmy open a bedroom window and crawl in or else I would have to wait for her to home. I got home at three and she didn't get home until five so I didn't want to wait.
