Who else?

I generally hate texting. Don't know how people can tolerate working their fingers on that tiny little touch screen. It annoys me. Then the mentality of texters bothers me worse, because so many of the ones I know are anti-talking on the phone, but will send a 2 paragraph long text. Seriously, how is that more convenient? It takes me five minutes just to write out three sentences on my blackberry.

Texting?

I prefer to text if I only want to make a small statement without any replies. Other than that I call.

It's a trend that I'm too old for. None of my friends are into texting, not really. When we have something to say, we call each other!
I know, how very "1995" right?

I don't text a lot - mainly with my brother, 'cause neither of us have good long distance plans. Most times, I'll just call but with my brother and sister-in-law, we'll send short messages. For anything longer, we e-mail.

Texting is the way I communicate 80% of the time. It's not a religion, but I just think phone conversations can be boring. Texting is like email.

I've never been a texting person. It's stupid. If I have something to say to someone, I call them! An old-fashioned concept by today's standards. This society is always coming up with new ways so people don't have to talk to one another.

Or at the very least, prohibit you from speaking face to face with another human being. Why must 5 year olds have cell phones? Because nobody goes to their friend's house and says 'do you want to come out and play?' anymore.

I rarely text anyone first. I mainly text if I have to reply to someone, but when I'm home I turn my phone off, so if anyone really wants to talk to me, they know to call my land line.

As the dad of a preteen girl, it's just customary that I be open to texting. We send each other messages all day long, so through interacting with her I've become comfortable with the whole trend. However, most of my friends aren't into it, and I'm glad. I generally prefer voice to text.

Or at the very least, a keyboard pad that isn't the size of a stamp.

I don't mind texting short questions, quick answers & statements. "I'm on my way", "Goodnight". That sort of thing. Basically if you have something to say that doesn't warrant much of a reply, then go ahead and text it. But I loathe it when people try and have a full fledged conversation with me via text. It just seems so stupid to do that instead of calling.
