Do you like thunderstorms?

When it's thundering and lightning, how does that set with you?

My brother and I HATED storms as kids, they always woke us up in the middle of the night and we hated the noise and the lightning freaked us out. My how things change...now I love thunderstorms, and I actually find them relaxing to fall asleep to in the night now. An initial really loud BOOM might wake me up but I have no problem going back to sleep. I know some people well into their adult years are still deathly afraid of the thunder and lightning, and I don't really get that. How about everybody else?

For the most part, I love thunder and lightening. We don't get a lot of storms where I live. In fact, they're extremely rare, but I love them! Well - I love when I'm safe, I should say.

I love thunderstorms. If not for the potential of getting my nuts electrocuted....or arrested....I would strip my clothes off and run through the streets ass naked during one.

I hate them for the risk of the power going out. It's also an unnecessary disturbance.

If I am alone or sleeping and they wake me up, I get bothered by them some. But otherwise, they are pretty cool.

I have always loved thunderstorms, as a child I loved to run out in a thunderstorm, weird I know. A tornado is different, listening to one pass overhead is awesome.

Thundering I don't mind, but I don't like lightning.

If I'm at home, and have no plans, then I love thunderstorms. From time to time I'll even go out and sit on my screened in patio and take in the wind and sporadic dampness.

I'm especially amused by thundering during snow storms.

Thundersnow! It hardly ever happens around here but I like it when it does. And I love thunderstorms as long as trees aren't coming down with them.

I adore them in the wee hours of the morning.

The only thing I don't like is the possibility of sitting in the dark. Usually the slightest sound my wife makes will wake me up but I sleep through any kind of weather.

I too enjoy witnessing the power and fury of weather - with a bit of awe that it could be fatal. So, I don't go out in thunderstorms if I can avoid it (I do in summer rains without the lightening). I have ridden my bike during thunderstorms and always hope the lightening takes out the street lights when crossing the bridge, instead of me.

Florida has the highest incidence of lightening strikes and deaths. You may survive a lightening strike in more northern parts but ours are stronger. Ppl here have been hit by lightening on sunny beaches 10 miles from the thunderstorms.

So, yes I like them, but do take care when possible.

Also like standing in sub hurricane force winds of 50 MPH and watching the surf crashing.

NO! Thunder puts me in distress ~ has since I was a kid. And I know that a lot of people like to watch storms, Period, but I'm just not one of them.

I love a great storm with thunder and lightning. The best lightning show I have ever seen was was on the road from Appleton to Madison Wisconsin. The skies were clear, zero obstructions and the lightning was low on the horizon..SImply beautiful.

I love a thunderstorm. The louder the thunder and harder the rain the better. Been that way since I was little.

When I was a kid I absolutely loved them. I used to open the window above my bed and breathe in the fresh air and feel the rain upon my face. When the lights would go out, my siblings and I would tell ghost stories. As an adult I still love thunderstorms.

However, one of the worst I have ever driving thru left me stranded in rural pennsylvania in a norman bate's motel type of setting. The damn room had a front door, adjoining room door, and a back door. I couldnt sleep all night waiting for a guy in a dress and knife to pop in! lol

Yeah, that's the thing, to be afraid of showering in your own home after seeing Psycho, doesn't make much sense because the stabbing happened at a motel, a motel HE owned. So that's one thing to be on the lookout for, another would be any dead bodies in or under the bed, hotels, motels, either one I would check for that too.

The sound dont bother me at all. I love the BOOM. Only thing I don't like about them is how they sometimes fuck up electricity and the down power lines that can come from them.
