Do you think immigration laws are too easy in allowing foreigners to migrate to the United States, or are too strict (and forget the spirit of America being a place for a new beginning?)

I don't understand how immigration laws are too strict. We're not keeping anyone out who qualifies for sponsership and is willing to go through the proper channels but when some try and SNEAK in and avoid proceedure then I say show no mercy. That's trespassing. If you want it bad enough then you'll work for it.

It can't be that easy since they are trying to sneak in. Well, hell...they've always been trying to sneak in. Let's face it, after 9/11.....they REALLY don't want foreigners to come into this country. I'm not exactly sure what or how the immigration laws have changed since then, but I'm willing to bet it's a lot stricter. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free...the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me". They don't give a shit about that anymore.

Too strict? xD People who say it's too strict really must have it good. lol If you wanna come in, do it legally. Simple as that. People've done it for years. My ancestors had to do it. If you want in, you do it the right way.

Both sets of my grandparents were immigrants and proudly struggled to go through the proper channels for their citizenship. Frankly it makes me upset when people try to sneak in and lay low. I think the country should welcome immigrants, so long as they prove that they have the character to be decent citizens.

I think it mostly depends on what kind of job you want. If you want to do something beyond working in a car wash, mowing lawns, washing dishes, etc. you have to jumb through hoops for a green card. Otherwise, just sneak in.

I think they're fine. Although there is one that I don't like, the one where if a mother gives birth to a child in the US (even if she's just visiting the country or is here illegally) she automatically becomes a citizen.

No, the CHILD automatically becomes a U.S. citizen. The mother's status remains the same. Her giving birth to a U.S. citizen might make it a bit easier to obtain citizenship, but she would still have to go through the proper protocol.
