Do random news stories sometimes hit you hard ?

Sometimes they do me and it is such a strange feeling. I read an interview with two of Natalie Holloway's close friends. It is crazy that they are all out of college now and beginning life. They detailed very well the emotions they went through in the last five years. It is crazy to think what a community, especially those close to her, went through. I just feel so sad about it.

I should add that my son's sister lost her college roommate this winter when she was in an accident. And this article really made me better understand what she is going through.

I'm not very sensitive, but sometimes by accident I will be watching the news and a sad story is on that just leaves me feeling startled and shook.

From time to time, a story does have a strange effect on me. Like for instance, that story I posted about the little boy left on the highway by his dad ]really bothered. I just can't understand how someone could throw a child away like that, and so callously.

Yes every once in a while an especially sad story breaks that shakes me.

Yeah it happens. Lacey Peterson & the kids of Susan Smith. Situations like that really get me sometimes.

If it involves the abuse of a child or an animal it will affect me.

Yeah - random stories definitely get to me - esp. if they involve the innocent - animals, children, and so on.

Rarely, but oddly enough, one of the ones I just read yesterday had that effect on me.

It has to be really shattering for me to tear up at a heartbreaking story. It has happened though.
