| As a kid I loved all the seasons, but I got a little older and realized summer had more advantages for a kid than winter does, Christmas break is only 2 weeks, summer vacation is almost 3 months, etc. This past year, my mantra was 'I HATE winter', but after this summer, I'm actually kind of looking forward to it again this year.
However, I realized a while back that both of them still have their disadvantages:
Summer: Mosquitos Chiggers Wasps Snakes A garden that always has to be tended to, and weeded, and watered, and everything has to be picked when ready and the rotten ones have to be disposed of. Excessive heat that makes it about impossible to even go outside when the sun is out.
Then you have winter, which has the disadvantages of: Snow Ice black ice Blizzards The sun disappearing for days at a time Always having to put on gloves, boots and a coat EVERY time to go out Wet floors and socks and shoes as a result from dragging the snow in with you Dry, cracked skin Bad roads which result in a cut down on getting to the store
Between the two I still prefer summer, but, and I can't believe I'm actually saying this, I've had enough of summer for one year, and want to get through the fall, and then through a restful winter before resuming that again.
How about everyone else?

| While I am not very fond of snow, I am starting to prefer Winter simply because our summers here are literally miserable, hot, humid and just overall unpleasant. I enjoy winter because of the Holidays and I can't imagine it being 80 degrees at Christmas time. | |

Agreed, and I love in summer when the kids are out of school, you get to see them around the neigbhorhood playing, where I live you hardly ever see them after school except when they're walking home, or the ones too young to be in school.

| I used to really have a hard time accepting winter coming. But, I have grown to appreciate that it is a less stressful, more laid back time for us. And that is a good thing. Summer is hectic. But I will still take sun and green over cold and snow any day.
Shale, I can not for a second imagine a Valentine's Day on a sandy beach next to warm water !

| Summer. I am not a cold weather person & hate the season change. It's 62 degrees & I already feel the impending dread setting in. | |

| I spent one year living just a few miles south of the equator...seemless weather, alway warm to hot. No leaves dying and falling off, no need for firewood or heating...hell the house I lived in didn't even have windows...just holes in the wall with a steel grate to keep out people and critters. Sweet summer forever.Loved it! | |

| We don't typically get snow ALL winter long, just a few times typically. So the constant wet floor or daily need to put on boots before going out is crossed off the life. Dry-cracked skin is a problem, as are the roads issues, but that's about it. I still prefer late fall. | |

| I'll say summer, solely because my birthday is in the summer.....but it can get extremely hot and humid in the summers here and too damn hot to do anything. I'm starting not to feel the snow as much either when I have to go out in it, although as a kid, I loved it. As I get older, I much prefer comfortable weather....with neither extreme. Spring or Fall.....I'll take those over summer or winter any day. | |

| Summer. Hands down. I do like a change of season though so if Spring began on January 1 that would work for me. | |

| i pick both. I have no problem with any of the seasons as i have been born and raised here in Miami so i am not bothered with it. Now if we are talking about hurricanes now that is a different story. | |

Same here.
That is why I'm here on Miami Beach - because of the weather.
I was raised in St. Louis - wading thru snow. Never went back to that.

| Definitely summer. I hate heat but there's so much LESS preparation for summer than winter. Getting ready for winter cold and snow is a hassle. Having to let your car warm up, leave early because of snowy roads. Speaking of which, my job is quite a ways away from my house. Takes approx 35-40 mins to drive there in GOOD weather. I'm DREADING what the commute will look like once the snow is on the ground. | |

| It was 35 F this morning in Miami, with a wind chill making somewhere in the upper 20s. I had to put on long pants to bike to work.
I don't like the cold.
I don't like wearing clothes.

I don't like wearing clothes. That's surprising to hear Shale, I didn't think it ever dropped below 40 in FL

| I hate the extreme cold but I hate the extreme heat more. You can bundle up and be at least somewhat relieved of the cold; the reverse isn't true for the heat.
So winter > summer for me.

Right now it is bright sun but seems colder than this morning so the front is still coming thru.
