Yep. I actually have a lot of kids (not my own) that I shop for, so when I see things on the cheap, I pick them up. But I did get one of my step daughter's big gifts just this weekend in Chicago.

Honestly I havent even thought about it but its not a bad idea, I usually wait til the very last minute. If you planning on hitting Best Buy up for electronics for someone, it's probably better to do it NOW.

I started buying Christmas presents over the summer. That's the way this family thinks, get a couple things here and there over the year and then there's not much rush at the last minute.

Best Buy already in traffic jam mode. I was there over the weekend and it pretty much Xmas shopping season now.

I've picked up some things here and there because I thought the person would like it but I haven't gone out on a mission yet. Besides, much of what I buy is on-line.

I ain't buying nobody shit, so no. Only person I'm buying for really, is my little sister. Maybe two or three friends. And I'll just get them cards and/or gifts cards. Oh yeah, I'll get my folks a little something too. Prob. the same damn thing. And my brother. And that's it.

That's what I'm doing this year. Amazon/Buy/Overstock. To hell with retail stores.

Unofficially. I'm not hardcore with it yet, but I did go ahead and pick up a new set of kitchen utensils for my mom last month at Sears. She had complained about missing knifes, forks and spoons. I'll probably continue after my next check is in the bank.
