Has anyone ever had a canker sore? I have one now. When I brushed my teeth yesterday I scrubbed kinda hard and hit my gums. Now I have a tiny canker sore and it HURTS BAD! I cant believe something so small can be this sore. Mommy!!!

Often in my life. My brother's the one who REALLY gets them though, all the time it seems he's got them while I've got the cold sores. I don't know about everyone else but in our family, after you have the chicken pox you have one of three things, you either get coldsores, or canker sores, or when you're older you get shingles. The men get the cankor sores and the women get the other stuff.

I had them before. Rinse with Listerine and they'll be gone in a week.

Ugh, they suck. And it seems so many food items irritate them, especially anything acidic. Not fun at all.

I have them a few times. Once was the result of eating a bag of hot chips. I accidentally scraped my gums with a chip and that salt irritated it. GrayWolf is right, they last for about a week or so.

I have had them before but it's been a long time.
