The sick voice thing wouldn't work for me because I work at a hospital. They will have you come in and take something. Anyways, I almost never call off. In the last year I only missed work once. For one I'm not gonna stay at home and mess with my paper stack and two, they don't play that "call off" junk there. If ur not dependable they WILL let you go and in the meanwhile got a thousand online applicants to choose from to replace me with!

I have my own business, but never cancel my day. I have to be lower than low sick to call off. With the exception of surgery, I have called off twice in the last ten years.

Totally co-sign. I'm not the type to call out often either. So when I actually do call out, I don't wanna hear any shit and there not be any problems. I will only do it if I have to and/or I need to take a day to get some important stuff done.

I'm sitting a home today with a miserable clogged head. I went in yesterday and it was just semi-productive anyhow wandering around in a haze. I told my boss I was taking today off.

I have to go in tomorrow, several meetings I have to attend. I am a fairly conscientious worker and rarely take sick days because I rarely get sick. But there is no bonus for me going in while sick and being miserable. In fact if my snotty germ spreading co-workers woulda stayed home last week I might not be sick now.

I'm rarely ever sick, so I hardly ever need my sick days. However, I do call in sick occasionally - I take maybe one sick day per a one or two month period. And yes, I do practice my "sick voice", lol.

I have only been at my current job since August, so calling off won't be an option for a good long while. At my last job . . . sheesh . . . I probably called off at least 10x a year.

At my job, there's a call off hotline that you call to leave a voice message stating that you're gonna be out that that day....so no need to practice the sick voice, because you're not actually talking to a live person.

But no, I don't go to work sick. If my throat is fucked up, I'm sitting the day out.
