Recasts (Best and Worst)

Recasts (Best and Worst) Roseanne-becky--chalke-&-goranson

Same character; Different Actor.

Happens all the time on daytime soaps, and occasionally prime time TV is force to recast a previously established role with a different actress. How do you feel about recasts, has there been any second actors who either ruined the role for you, or who you perhaps liked *better* than the first?

Becky 2 and Vivian 2 were definitely some of the worst transfers they could've done. Also, Harriet 2 from Family Matters, and even though I don't watch Bewitched, nobody but Dick York could play Darren.

I liked Darrin #2 (Dick Sargent). Everyone hates him, but I thought he was much less spastic than Dick York and better in confrontations with Samantha's family.

Of course, Judy 2 in Family Matters was clearly a lot better than Judy 1, even though in the end they still wrote her out with absolutely no explanation whatsoever.
