Tales from the Darkside

Can't believe nobody's brought that one up. Who remembers that show? I love it. I don't care if most of the stories are cornier than the whole state of Iowa, they're fun, they're funny, and sometimes they are truly scary as hell.

I liked it back in the day.

The Halloween episodes are some of the best. I LOVE that one about the Halloween Candy, that freaky demon whatever it was, with that deep voice "trick or treat" and the jingle bells on its feet. But exactly WHAT is it about old people and insects?

I remember when I was like 5 or 6, one of the stations here would play MONSTERS followed by TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE every Saturday night at 10. Liked them both but TFTD was darker whereas MONSTERS was campy..

I loved the show as a kid. I remember this one episode where these 2 guys went to a carnival and heckled this old, run down whoodini - thinking he was a fraud. So finally the maestro dares the one guy to be his assistant. During the show, the guy begins to levitate in mid air. Up he went, and up and up and up. The magician was old and so he didn't quite know how to reverse the trick. Meanwhile the wouldn't come back down and basically floated away like a helium filled balloon.

Though I always thought this was a good Halloween episode too.
