Shoes On or Off? Empty Shoes On or Off?

Post by Adrian LePere Sat Oct 30, 2010 12:37 am

When you're home, do you wear your shoes, slippers, socks, or do you walk around barefoot? I've always worn shoes in the house, taking them off should be based on comfort. I know some have a no shoe policy to keep the floors clean, but I've never been comfortable with it. I feel naked without shoes. I just wondered is this the norm now, no shoes?

I'm more comfortable not wearing shoes. I tend to be shoeless at home unless someone has spilled something on the floor, then I'll wear sandals or something until I or they clean it up, depending on what I'm up there for. Also I'm an incredibly hot person, I have to do what I can to keep from burning up. It's why I love winter.

In warm weather, I am no shoes ever. I wear socks in the winter. And my home is a no shoe home, but people are ass hats and ignore that.

When I am home I am mostly always shoeless. In summer I am barefoot. When I get home from work first thing shoes come off. In winter I wear my slippers in the morning and socks in the evening. Like Impact I am always warm so the less the better.

I sometimes keep my shoes on but if not, I'm wearing my slippers with a rubber sole that can be worn for short trips outside. Our place can get kind of cluttered so I have to gaurd against smashing my toes.

Not only do I not wear shoes at home, I don't wear clothes either.

I wear shoes to work and when jogging. Otherwise I wear flip-flops outside and totally barefoot inside or around the apartment complex.

Shale, have you ever considered "barefoot" running? Because you tend to have your foot strike more on the balls of your feet instead of heel first it's supposed to be more betterer biomechanically speaking. My knees are too far gone for even that though.

Nah! I run on city sidewalks and street pavement that is not always smooth or even. Need some foot protection. Plus my soles are very sensitive to pressure or ruf surface.

I certainly understand that. They do have these "shoes" that look like gloves for your feet. Not trying to talk you into anything...like I said, I can't do it myself. Just curious. Do you ever run on the beach?

I'm almost always barefoot. I have slippers but honestly, I only wear them when I'm outside checking the mail or taking out the trash. I grew up in a barefoot household, that's how we roll.

95% of the time if I'm at home, I'm totally barefoot. I am like Jack Johnson without the guitar. As soon as I walk inside my shoes are off. It has nothing to do with the floors, just like my feet to breath. I'm forced to wear shoes all day at work, so when I get home I like to relax.

If I'm at home alone, then I'm barefooted. If I have company, I'll at least put on a pair of socks. I think it's rude to be barefooted around other people.

I do as well but it depends on the company, close friends, who cares, family, who cares but other company then yes it may be rude to be barefoot.

Guess I hang with a much more natural crowd. I don't put my shoes on at home - Ever.

I have to put on shorts when ppl come by and if they are family or friends I don't bother putting on a shirt.

If they are on business like the census taker, I did put on a shirt but stayed barefoot.

It is my natural state and I only wear shoes to protect my feet or when required at work.

For the most part, barefoot...as a kid I walked around barefoot all the time and had a HUGE gap between my big toes and the ones next to them because I didn't have the socks and the shoes to press them all together, my mother used to say the gap was like an Indian arrowhead:

    Shoes On or Off? Fob-027-xl

Yeah that's about what shape the gap was...I still have a gap between my toes but not as big as it used to be. I guess it's no wonder I have to wear wide shoes.

I rarely wear shoes when I'm at home. In the summer, I'm always barefoot, but in the winter I'm usually wearing socks and/or slippers.

When I'm at home, I'm more likely to not have on any shoes. I might wear slippers or socks, but if I have on shoes that means I'm about to go out or I just came in and haven't taken them off yet.
