If a person is friends with someone who was cheating on their loving, devoted, good natured partner (who was completely clueless), do you think they have an obligation to alert their partner?

I more cases than not, the friend gets mad at the friend delivering the news. I think it is best to just let them discover on their own, or do something anonymous to give them the heads up.

No. That ain't my business. I don't get involved in other people's relationships, esp when it could backfire. But I will definitely check the friend and tell him/her how I feel about it.

So long as they keep me out of their mess, then that is their business. Soon as they start trying to include me for alibi's, and making me more privy to details about their liaisons than I need to know, then it becomes my business. From there, if I need to come clean to someone (including their partner) for my own convenience or peace of mind, then I will.

The way I see it, you can shoot the messenger but keep the live round for your cheating spouse.

This.....more people need to stay out of business that does not concern them.Nystyle709 wrote:No. That ain't my business. I don't get involved in other people's relationships, esp when it could backfire. But I will definitely check the friend and tell him/her how I feel about it.

Am I the only one who would be insulted to know that a 'friend' couldn't be bothered to tell you about a problem you have?

It is not at all about being bothered. For me, I know darn well that getting involved is not at all worth it. The truth will come out anyway, and the friendship would not have been marred if I stayed mum or informed the friend anonymously.

Looks like it. We're talking about relationships. A couple's relationship only involves two parties. Shouldn't be any more than that. Why would you fault your friend for not wanting get into your business? It's called respect. If someone's friend told their friend that their spouse was cheating, there would be a big argument about it and 9 times out of 10........he/she would be put in the middle of it. Unless you like dealing with drama, nobody got time for that.
