Do you think that kids should go to preschool or is it alright for them to just start kindergarten when they're 5?

I think it is a good thing. But definitely not necessary for a child to go on to do well in K and beyond.

I was homeschooled but I started off in preschool at about 2 and a half, but the only reason I did that was because apparently I got jealous of all the time my mother spent teaching my brother, so I'd keep her up all hours of the night watching TV and roller skating so we could be together, but then she had to work in the morning before school. So she got me in preschool so she could teach both of us at the same time and I'd quit getting her up every night.

I was under the impression that many parents who enroll their children in pre-K work. That it is basically an avenue to give them time to get used to juggling their work schedule and school for the kid in a year when it's mandatory for them to go.
