Lara (Elizabeth Banks) is convicted of murder and given life in prison after 3 years of appeals. Her husband (Russell Crowe) will never stop believing she's innocent, so let's figure out away to break her out of a maximum penitentiary. All this while he takes care of a young son and teaches.
Granted, certain suspense thrillers need to suspend some logic. I don't expect every thriller to be entirely persuasive and/or creditable. But give me a narrative that makes some sense. Give me a story that contains some balance/evenness. It's hard to enjoy a film you can't believe in. The action scenes can be clumsy and puzzling. It's a waste of talent.
