Wouldn't be thrilled. I'd probably be pretty upset, but I'd try to be supportive anyway. Wouldn't cast them out in the cold or anything.

Even though I'm gay myself, I wouldn't be thrilled either. But only because I know that it would be a tougher road ahead but of course I would still love, support and all that good stuff.

When your kids grow up they go out on their own anyways so my thing is to love and support no matter which way they go.

I'm not gonna say that it wouldn't bother me at all, but I'd try to get over it quick.

They say mothers always know so I imagine that I would have made my peace with it long before the confirmation occurs. Wouldn't love him or her any less.

My love, bond and understanding would not change at all. But I would be lying if I said I wouldn't probably be a bit sad. I would be sad because I have a son, and I would know that he would have a harder time being a father, and that who he chooses to love would make his day to day life harder, which doesn't readily happen to a heterosexual male. So, any sadness I would have would stem from his hardships bases on his sexuality, and not the sexuality itself.

Spot on cateyes and redbedroom. If my kid were gay, then that's just what's so. Wouldn't have any effect on how I treated or supported them!

Depends on how they act or their personality growing up. I might be a little surprised or not surprised at all. But I wouldn't care, my child is my child and I will love and support them regardless...

I am a lesbian and I wouldnt care if i had glbt kids. The world is hard out there and I know some people who are gay don't want their kids to go through what they went through. But, I believe you cant go through life fearing things. Fear keeps discrimination alive. So if i had a gay kid I would tell them to be what they are to the best of their ability and not to fear anything or anyone. I wouldnt be afraid for them because they would have atleast one supportive parent which is more than a lot of gay kids have.

Same as if my kid was straight and met somebody they loved who treated them like they deserved to be treated. I'd be thrilled.
