Talking to strangers
Are you comfortable talking to complete strangers and how often do you strike up conversations with people you don't know?

Re: Talking to strangers
Sure I am comfortable talking to strangers. I don't do it on a daily basis, depends on the situation I am in. Commuting to the City everyday gives grand opportunity to talk and joke with strangers on a daily basis.

No and not very often. I will chat with anybody who up and talks to me but I'm not comfortable just striking up conversations with people I don't know.

Re: Talking to strangers
I'm very uber social so I'm very comfortable striking up conversations with people. Most of my friends are my friends because I said something to them first.

Re: Talking to strangers
I am very social. But I wasn't always this way. I used to be way to shy to strike up conversation with strangers. Now, I am probably open to a fault if anything!

Same here. Provided that I don't detect some kind of red flag that tells me not to, I will casually chat with a stranger who engages me in conversation. However, I am not really one to strike up one myself.

Re: Talking to strangers
Yes and all the time. Sometimes you run into standoffish those people that wont really say much back or give you a "WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?" look but I think for the most part people appreciate it others engage them in conversation. They just dont like making the 1st move. I love talking to people I dont know. I think it gives me more social skills and makes me good at reading different kinds of people.

Re: Talking to strangers
I've never been the social type but that's something I've found very easy to do especially lately.

Re: Talking to strangers
I might make a comment about something that would spark a light conversation....but I don't go up to complete strangers and start yapping.

Re: Talking to strangers
I'm pretty comfortable with talking to ppl I don't know. Taking long train trips I often socialize with strangers in the club car & even on bus trips you meet ppl hanging around the stations waiting miserably with you - so there is a commonality.

Re: Talking to strangers
I deal heavily with the public everyday as a receptionist in a govrnment building, so when I leave for the day I am "SO done" talking to people. When I sit in the bus or light rail I just want to be left alone.

Re: Talking to strangers
I'm usually comfortable talking with starngers and I might be the first to speak but not just randomly about the weather, etc.

Re: Talking to strangers
Don't have a problem with it but it's better when the other person seems nice.
