My horoscope describes me pretty accurately but I think the kind of wordplay the zodiac industry uses is designed to sound universal enough to make everyone say "Yep that sounds like me".

Not really. I can believe that someone may have psychic ability and can foresee someone's immediate fate....but not from a broad, horoscope perspective. You can't tell me that every Virgo on the planet is going to have the same kind of day today.

I'm a Taurus, and my husband is a Taurus, and the description of Taurus pretty much is right on for us...But I think the language is probably pretty broad.
On the other hand there are lots of things in the universe that I don't understand and star charts and all that are one of them so maybe if I knew more about them I would feel differently.
My kids all seem to fit in with their signs as well...

I don't believe in horoscopes or astrological signs/personality traits. In many ways I'm nothing like my sign is supposed to be. Horoscopes might be fun to read but not as a guide to living your life.

I never read horoscopes. For one thing they only take the sun sign, without accounting for the individual ascendant and moon sign as well as planet placement.
Not that I accept astrology as an absolute but there is a romantic acceptance of it, and most accounts have me as pretty much the Scorpio.

As to the question, I believe that there is truth in astrological persona (ie: Aquariuses tend to behave like this...Tauruses tend to react like that...etc.), but I don't put a whole lot of credence into the daily reads and predictions of people born under this or that sign.

I agree with Nhaiyel; that I'm willing to accept a general zodiacal description of personalities born under certain signs, but I don't read too much into daily horoscopes either. I see them as light entertainment. I used to read the horoscopes and much of what they said would happened was worded in such a way that seemed generally likely anyway.

Nope. Years ago, I was taking an Astronomy class and one of our assignments was to discover our true Zodiac. We all looked at our professor like he was nuts until he explained the assignment. The sign we were born under doesn't match with the dates used in the Zodiac. I'm a Leo by date but a Capricorn by birth, as i was born under Capricorn. The point of the assignment was to recognize how much stars have shifted since the dates for the Zodiac were originally set down. If my Zodiac is supposed to be the sign I was born under, then things are all mixed up. I don't put much stock in the Zodiac, though I did have to wonder if that was the reason why being a Leo never really fit for me - lol.
