Did You Ever Skip School?

As a kid did you ever "play hooky" from school....if you did, how did you do it (get away with it) and what did you do when you were supposed to be at school? I did quite a bit in my junior and senior year.

Yep and got my ass kicked when my pop found out.

That would've been nice, but when you're homeschooled that's not gonna happen, although some days we did take off from school because, since we weren't limited to a one lesson plan a day thing like in the public school, we could and often did get that much further ahead of the schedule.

Beyond 'Senior Skip Day,' I don't think so.

Nope, I LOVED school...It was my safe place away from my crazy mom.

I skipped school a few times, maybe four times or so during my freshman year.

Never. All through school, I only had missed one day, and that was only because I had an injury was was forced to go to the hospital. I was obsessed with perfect attendance from seventh grade on.

The one time I skipped a sports award banquet with a friend, I ended up getting an award, so even that one time was stupid as hell to skip something school related.

Not really. Even though I was a latchkey kid and had plenty of opportunities to do it, I never bothered. Maybe did it once or twice.

From time to time during my junior and senior year. I had a girlfriend back then with a car and she'd pick me up and drop me off. This one time we skipped to go stand in line at the mall for Green Day tickets.

i did ALOT!!!, an i hid it from my ma cuz i got home before she did, so i would check the mail so the letters i got sent home from school, she didnt recieve 90% of them..i even hid alot of my progress reports from her too.. i only showed my actual report cards, which of course she expected. but i eventually dropped out...sad to say. i DID NOT LIKE SCHOOL. only classes i didnt ditch were my business type classes (word processing and computer) and my foods classes. everything else i was like fuck it.

Only once, though I guess we te4chnically had permission - lol. It was the last day of grade 12 and we were supposed to be moving desks down to the gym for final exams. We started talking to the counsellor and he said that we could take off if we wanted, as we'd moved desks for four years, so we did - skipped just over half the school day.

Frequently in my 12th grade year. My dad used to let me drop him off at work, with the understanding that I would then drive his car to school. Not always the case. A number of times I wound up skipping. Got so bad that by the end of the year I had to submit a doctors note excusing all of the missed days else they wouldn't let me graduate. Lucky for me my doctor was cool enough to write me up one even though the majority of the days I missed weren't for sick reasons.
