With a very creditable cast, director and script writer...."Green Zone" deserves a much better payoff. This paranoid suspense thriller is predictable and un-suspenseful. You have already read the headlines the film depicts. And you have seen all the real-life parallels the characters imitate. Although there are some similarities this is not the magnificent "The Hurt Locker"
It's 2003 Iraq as we meet Army Officer Miller (Matt Damon) who's mission is to find WMD's. Guest what? The warehouse is empty. Well, Matt doesn't stop there. You have seen it before. Cover ups. Slippery characters, both in and out of the military. Hey Donald Rumsfeld where have you gone.
Director Paul Greengrass (Bourne films, United 93, Black Sunday) needs to change his approach. And stop with the hand-held-camera. The script writer penned "Mystic River" and "LA Confidential". Too much talent for an average film
