Was your attitude or demeanor more cynical, pessimistic or "negative" when you were younger than it is now?
Did something happen to make you SEE "the light" about being more positive, or did you just naturally mellow with age?

No, I'm not a reformed cynic. I'm a cynic, just not reformed, lol. I'm much more cynical and pessimistic than I was when I was younger and with me personally, I don't see myself mellowing. I'm extremely uptight, cynical and generally a pain in the ass to everyone else (as my fellow CC members probably realize.)

The stereotype "Old Curmudgeon" comes to mind as not mellowing with age. Actually, men's brains change with age and they usually become more belligerent, so the stereotype is true. Unless of course they overcome it with attitude. I find that I am just as cynical as ever but just don't voice it as often. Guess you just get tired of the battles that you've been waging for decades and see the futility sometimes of voicing honest negativity. However, if pushed I can respond in kind.

Is that really true??? I don't like the sound of that at all sad When I met my husband he was the most easy going guy and was very mellow and open minded, but now, at 37 he's grumpy...I blamed it on the fact that he doesn't smoke pot any more (it's been 11 years) and that he has a lot on his shoulders but maybe he's just turning grumpy sad
