| Recently, I read about a [gay] pornographic film company that was being fined by the state's Division of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) because they were producing films without the use of condoms, and were even using HIV-positive models (although, to their defense, they say that the positive models they used were paired with other positive models, with both parties mutually aware of the others status.)
Do you think that pornographic film companies should be fined for not mandating condom usage?

| No, I don't. The models/actors know what they are getting into. They know the risk. | |

| Why?? These actors are tested and I am quite sure that the non hiv actors are going to have condomless sex with the Hiv+ actors. As Red said above, they know the risks involved and I am quite sure that they take measures to protect themselves if they have to. | |

| I'm glad to see that it has become an OSHA issue. Lot's of ppl know risks, but when employers are cutting corners in any business that puts the employee's health or life at risk, that is why we have OSHA to force them to comply with safety standards. Many times an employee goes along with the risk because they need the employment.
Now, do they know the risks? There are more than one strain of HIV. Those two or more HIV positive ppl are exacerbating their illness by having unprotected sex with other HIV pos ppl. Did they know that? Did their employee explain that risk to them?
As for those who are tested, like I tell ppl in my AIDS class - the test is just as valid as your last at-risk behavior then all bets are off. Are these unprotected performers going to wait 3 months before their next unprotected performance to get their HIV neg results? Therefore you shouldn't rely on test results in the porn biz.
I've watched barebacking porn. Some you can tell is before AIDS but some are actually late teen adolescents in more recent times. IDK what precautions were taken with those boys or how informed they were of the risks. I don't mind seeing rubbers in my porn. In fact knowing that those cute boys are safe even enhances the enjoyment. So yeah, I'm glad the agency that is supposed to look out for employee safety is taking a stance on this issue.

| Just another way of trying to make $$$$ is all that is. Next they'll be fining people who choose to not wear condoms when they have sex at home. | |

No, not at all. These adult "actors" know what they're getting to. If they decide "Gee, I think I'll have totally unprotected sex with this stranger for money," that's up to them.
