Negative, because if there is a common complaint among them, it is best to avoid the product. And I don't read entertainment/media reviews.

I tend to pay more attention to customer reviews....and like you I read what the naysayers are saying first.

I read the good and the bad for product reviews and make up my own mind. I also try to notice how long the reviewer has had the product. If it's only been for a short time, I take what they have to say with a grain of salt.

For a product I look at the negative first to see if there's a common theme. Then the positive to see if they dispute it.

This is what I love about amazon.com, it allows you to navigate customer reviews by star rank. If it's more of a product item, something to use around the house, I read the positive reviews first. If it's entertainment (movies, music, books) then I start with the negative and lead up to the positive.

I don't read reviews. Everyone has their own opinions, and why consider someone else's opinion when it comes to my decision? I get a product I want, and if it doesn't work, who cares? Life hasn't ended as we know it.

Well I'm glad you're rich enough to afford to throw away money on a defective product, but I'm not. I read reviews and they (usually) don't make my final decision but I definitely take what I read into consideration.

I read whatever reviews actually appear to be saying something worthwhile about the product.

I learned after dropping money on a grinder several years ago. Every single problem I had with it was complained about in the reviews.

I read the ones with the most positive reviews. If a product has too many negative ones, then I don't bother reading it.
