Well I'm just guessing, but who knows....maybe my eye caught so sticky specimen that flew towards my face.

Aw Marc, I'm sorry your eye hurts. If you haven't tried it already, maybe go to the kitchen sink and poor a glass of water into it. It's hard to keep your eye open because instinctively a person wants to close it, but a nice wave of water might just wash it out - whatever it may happen to be!
