HomeI was planning on making a thread about it anyway. So yeah......what are they, where does it come from, do you hate it, etc, etc, etc? My family's nickname for me is Tootsie. I used to get called that all the time when I was little. Got it from my uncle. My fam rarely does it anymore, but everytime he sees me, he still calls me that. Most of my friends call me 'Z'. Initial of my first name. And I remember back in the 8th grade, the boys in my class would call me 'NN'. You don't wanna know what that stood for.

They used to call me "Marco" (that's where "MARQO" came from....) in HS. When I was like 3 or 4, my uncle used to call me "Marc D'Narc". This past Thanksgiving he shows up after I hadn't seen him in like 15+ years, and he calls me what....? "Marc D'Narc".

My name is Robert but as a kid I was called Bobby by my family and my sister still calls me Bob and her kids call me uncle Bob. I've been Rob since the early '70s.
As a young man in New Orleans, my roommate's name was Bob and we had a friend who came into town and stayed with us on many weekends whose name was Bob. So, roomie Bob's girlfriend started calling me Fuzzy. (I was a rent-a-cop and had a mustache)
I am quite proud that I am "Bookie." I know there must be a million black men called Bookie by their women, and my wife used to call me that. Occasionally she also called me "Sick Puppy."

Story here...My dad nicknamed me "DINO" when I was a baby cause of the way I'd get overexcited like Dino from Flintstones when he'd come home. After a while they all (mom, brothers & friends) started calling me "Dino" and that became what I was known as. To this day I'm called Dino by just about everyone.

My Mom has always called my "Peanut". And even as a grown adult, I don't mind the nickname, I'm not quite sure where she got it from though! My Dad used to call me "Porcupine" because as a baby my hair stood straight up.

frens an fam call me happs, ive had it ever since i could remember. also 1 one of my aunts calls me tush. i honestly cant remember how or why she gave me that nickname, shes called me that since elementary school, an still does.

Y'know it's not really a nickname, more like a title, but my grandsons have always called me "Opa."
