I'm sure everyone knows that Surrogacy is having another woman, outside of your relationship, have your child for you; whether you pay them or it's voluntary. This is a common thing for infertile and gay couples.

What is your stance on surrogacy?

If for some reason you (and/or your partner) were unable to carry, would you consider a surrogate? On the flip side–women–would you offer to be a surrogate for someone else?

If for some reason I can't have a baby, then I'll swallow that roadblock and move on from it. No surrogacy and I wouldn't be anyone's surrogate either. No disrespect to others who go in on that, but that's too mucked up for me. I wouldn't put myself thru any of that mess.

    1. If I couldn't have a baby of my own, I'd adopt, I wouldn't want some other woman doing it for us, I think it's something of a crazy idea.

and 2. No, I wouldn't be a surrogate for anyone, I'm not having a baby and spending 9 months with it growing inside of my body and enduring hours or days in labor just so someone else can have the satisfaction of raising it and being its mother.

I'm indifferent. I don't see myself using a surrogate if I couldn't conceive, but hell...who knows. If I wanted a baby that bad that would biologically be mine and I had the means, I just might do it. I don't look down on anyone who used or who is a surrogate.

I don't see anything wrong with surrogacy. However, for myself, if I couldn't have a child, I would either adopt or have no child altogether. Being half of a couple is hard enough, having a child adds to the distress and adding another woman into the equation would make my head spin. And no way in hell would I be a surrogate mother. I'm not going through child labor (or anything, for that matter) unless there's something in it for me. I'm all for whatever works for other people, though. If this is a way you want to be a parent and can find a willing woman, go for it!

I could never see offering to be someone else's surrogate. Any baby I carry is mine.

Exactly. This is why I don't get the whole thing. Sometimes they would use the husband's sperm but find another woman to carry it because they want a child that is at least partially theirs...well every parent wants a child who is theirs but life proves time and again you don't always get what you want just because you want it. I mean you don't throw a baby out if it's not born as the one you had in mind, unless you're in China maybe but I digress, you have to play the hand you're dealt when the child is born. Now in the meantime, there are already millions of children in this world who have already been born and have nobody, what, just because they don't have these two people's genes they're not entitled to a family or a good home?
