When it comes to restaurants, do you have a preference when it comes to chains vs. locally owned?

I rarely eat out. All food is suspect when you are a vegetarian. (They put chicken broth in mashed potatoes now)

When I do eat out it is always at Olive Garden - because I can get good tasting vegetarian food there (usually cheese ravioli with marinara sauce) and a salad, which is what I eat every day at home. Plus I like red wine with my Italian meal.

We typically wind up at one of the chains because there aren't that many local restaurants around that we would go to for a sit down meal. Those are for take out.

I prefer the locally owned. But a lot of them have been having a bad time with the economy.

Nope. Whatever I'm in the mood for is where I'm going.

I do mostly locally owned. Very few chains are worth the money.
