| No. But I recall friends in school belonging to them. The Chad Allen fan club was a big deal!

One year on my birthday I got a call from their fanclub of them singing a (pre-recorded) birthday greeting. | |

Are fan clubs still around today? They're still around. About all you get is info on appearances, a small discount on merchandise & access to a "secret" section of a website. You don't even get the crappy t shirt a lot of the time now. All for about 25-50 bucks. I don't think so. They're just a waste of money that gets nothing for you & makes some rich person richer.

| I was a member of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation fan club back in 1990. Remember when tapes and CDs used to give fan club addresses in the liner notes (and sometimes those addresses were the same as the record label?) But hers wasn't too bad; I got a T-Shirt, key chain, and monthly news letter. I forgot how much it cost, because it was my mom who paid for it...and because she paid for it, my membership wasn't renewed after it expired. | |

| Went back & looked at a few I associated with several years ago. Looks like they're going for $25-$30 but you get stickers & a magnet. lmao | |

They're still around. About all you get is info on appearances, a small discount on merchandise & access to a "secret" section of a website. You don't even get the crappy t shirt a lot of the time now. All for about 25-50 bucks. I don't think so.

Wow, I would have assumed that fan clubs are one thing that died with the times of Internet in almost every home. I know! Hadn't thought about it in ages. lol Looks like some of them have smartened up & reduced the cost to sell merchandise on their sites. But you seriously get nothing for it. Tour dates are posted. I can find "fact sheets" online. Not interested in "secret" or "private" websites. And I don't need any more magnets.  | |
