Could you be an executioner?

Could you be the guy who throws the switch on the electric chair or a member of a firing squad for people getting the death penalty? And I don't mean like it IS done, five guys fire but only one has a real bullet and nobody knows who, or a bunch of switches for the electric chair but only one really turns on the juice, or, I suppose with hanging them, pulling a bunch of switches but only one trigger the trap door...but to know that the one you did was the 'live round', THE switch/bullet to kill them?


Yeah, I think I could, but I wouldn't want the job because I wouldn't want to work in a prison in the first place because I wouldn't want to work in such a depressing atmosphere.

I'm not interested in doing that at all. I say no. I'd shoot someone who was a threat to my child though, if they were going to do something terrible to them and it would stop them from doing it.

No interest in a job like that. I couldn't handle it. I'm glad we don't have the death penalty here in Canada.

No matter how repugnant the person and the crime the led them to this fate, I wouldn't have any desire to be the one to juice someone's life. I wouldn't even wanna see it.

No. Particularly in Texas where they seem to do that every 10 minutes. I know executioners are just doing they're job, but how do you sleep the nights before?

The killers being executed seem to sleep just fine.

Well I wouldn't be sure about that. But let's take, I forget his name, that guy who admitted to kidnapping, torturing and burying a 9 year old girl alive, and they executed him...how would the executioner sleep the night before? I don't know, if that were me I don't think I'd be able to sleep for excitement of frying such a bastard, the relief in knowing soon he'd be dead and could never get out and do it to any other child.

Maybe. Although I don't think most executioners take glee in it. They shouldn't be doing it if they do.
