    We all have the BIG things that piss us off and get us ready to rip our hair out and such, but what are the little pet peeves that irritate you to no end?


    Here's one of my biggest ones: people who comment on the movie Fatal Attraction and refer to the child as 'their son, Alan'. Apparently everybody who saw this movie in the 80s got on impact that ELLEN was a GIRL but everybody who's seen it since needs their eyes checked. I could tell she was a girl from the first time I saw her in the movie, and it wasn't the movie, it was when it was mentioned on I Love the 80s and they never said daughter, they said child, and I could tell it was a girl. And I'm not the most observant person in the world so if I could tell it, I don't see any excuse for other people to not get it. And what really burns me is that any boob can look up this movie and find out that the child's name is ELLEN and that she was a girl, and they STILL call her 'Alan, their young son' because 'she has that short butchy hair, they were trying for an androgynous child'. Well they picked the girl with the short hair and dirty jeans over all the Jonbenet wannabes of the time, so you would think that would tell somebody SOMETHING. pissed

    eye roll But that's just me, anybody else got one to add?

    Previews on a DVD where you can't jump to Main Menu. (I have to jump to next scene for each of the previews to get to the movie I paid for)

    Reading "then" and "than" being interchanged. (even professional writers do this) They ain't the same word - not even close in meaning.

    Assholes who risk other ppls lives by texting while driving (or concentrating on yakking on a cell phone instead of what's happening on the road.)

    People who make over the top negative judgments about things they've never experienced, but other people may enjoy.

    People who ignore the fact that in America we walk to our right, but for some reason they make an effort to pass you on your right even when you're farthest to the right on the sidewalk.

    Hey, that's another one. When I grew up in the midwest, we walked on the right side just like our cars do on the road, but here in Miami I've noticed the opposite. (even automatic doors open on the left) There aren't that many Jamaicans here to have instituted this British tradition. IDK what that's about.

    It bothers me how wire coat hangers can get tangled. Maybe Joan Crawford wasn't a total psycho in that regard. It also bugs me that the laces on this one pair of shoes won't stay tied. They're thicker, kind of like what you find on moccasins. No matter how tight I make the bow, they loosen at some point during the day.

    Good Point! I also yell to pedestrians "HANG UP AND WALK!"

    Another peeve. Ppl who plug in and make themselves functionally deaf. They should be made to wear a sign or something like the red-tipped white cane blind ppl have.

    Our senses were not primarily for enjoyment but were a survival strategy. Go out in a world full of moving ppl, cars and BICYCLES, in which you cannot hear what is approaching you from behind, then get mad when a final     SHOUT from a cyclist startles you back to the dangerous world in which you are walking.

    OMG yes! The woman in the next cubicle from me recently commented on something I do without even being aware of it. Because my nose can get stuffy without even having a head cold, I guess I’ve developed an unconscious habit of sometimes exhaling air through my mouth. Sometimes it seems I do it when I’m frustrated too. It’s difficult for me to describe it. The point is, I know I don’t do it loudly. She wears ear buds most of the time and frequently you have to try more than once to get her attention. Yet she can hear me softly puffing out my breath.

    What I honks me off are DIRTY keyboards at work. I come in and have to use a computer and it's sticky, has food crumbs all on it. Makes me sick.

    This isn't really a "little thing," this is a more a peeve. I can't stand when every other house on the street has their walkway shoveled after a winter snow storm, while the one house doesn't. I'm talking about my next door neighbor. What's worse is that no one in that house is crippled. They are fully capable. When my kids are over and outside, I'm having to tell them to be careful walking in front of that house.

    That's another thing that I hate, the whole household can be gathered in a room but for some reason *I* need to be called in to do the little things that everybody else is perfectly capable of.

    Where I work, and when I am out in public, people around me saying "Huh?" every time anyone speaks. Not just when I speak, so it isn't that I am mushmouth, but even when spoken to clearly, someone says "Huh?"

    What a time waster, and annoying.
