Something I saw yesterday......

....that I've never seen in all my years of driving. A man using authentic hand signals in his car. I'm just driving behind him and I'm wondering why is he sticking his arm out of the window making all these motions with his arm? Then it just hit me. LOL, cool beans.

LOL, it's rare enough when drivers use the turn signals their cars are equipped with let alone doing it manually. I wonder how many TCC members even know what the manual signals are? About 15 years ago, the turn signal switch on my car died and I played it safe and rolled down my window to give hand signals.

I know what they are because I've seen them in my driver's manual when I was going for my permit and I've seen bicyclists use them (although not often). But that was my first time seeing someone use them in a car. That's why it took a moment to register, lol. I'm glad he did though. I can't stand when people don't signal. They'll stop abruptly in front of you to turn and then don't turn.

lol, I hardly ever see that either! Sometimes when people are pulling out of a parallel spot I see it though.

It's pretty unusual to see, but I've seen it a few times.

From time to time I see someone sticking their hand out the window to signal to other drivers something…it's usually just to pass though.

I have never seen that in anybody but on bikes or a few times on motorcycles.

LOL NY here in NY if you don't use hands, feet and car signals people ignore you and just keep on going. I use hand signals sometimes when I am pleading to change lanes or am a passenger.
