Best Restaurants In New York?
I'm taking a day trip to NY next month with the BF. What are the best restaurants in NY? It's been about four years since I hopped over that way, but the last time I was there I ate at Grand Sichuan in Chinatown…which was OK, but I wasn't terribly impressed. Ny? Tony? tmonty? The floor is yours, what's good for a budget?

Re: Best Restaurants In New York?
Most restaurants are pretty pricey in the city but this place you can get a lunch special for about 10 bucks and the buritos are really good:

Re: Best Restaurants In New York?
That's a pretty useful website Tony, thanks. Oh, I know that everything is pricey in the city, that's why my guy and me are only going to make a day out of it. Do some shopping, browsing and of course either grab lunch (preferably) or dinner. No overnight, though.

Re: Best Restaurants In New York?
I don't know where you're going to be and I don't know what you're looking for, but here are some of my faves:
Brooklyn Moon Cafe (745 Fulton St. Brooklyn). It's a Caribbean spot. Good food (you HAVE to get their curry potato if you go), great ambiance, and the drinks are reasonably priced. So if you're on a budget, it's a great spot to hit up. Lots of bars/cafes/clubs in that area. That's where I saw the actor Jefferey Wright.
The Door (163-17 Baisley Blvd. Queens) Another Caribben spot. The food is a little pricey....but it's so fucking awesome that's it's worth. They're located right around my way so I hit them up whenever I can. Might go there on Friday actually. Prepare for a bit of a wait time though.
Dallas BBQ's (Times Square) Cornbread is off the chain. And unlike other chain restaurantst that serve alcohol, their drinks are not watered down. Their prices are decent too.
Jive Turkey (570 Myrtle. Ave. Brooklyn) I think I saw you say you don't like turkey, but their seafood is good too. And if you decide to try their fried turkey, you'd be a turkey lover for life.
Bridge Cafe (279 Water St. Manhattan) Daddy used to take me to this place a lot. Another good spot for seafood.
Tad's Steakhouse (701 7th Ave. Manhattan) Since you say you're on a budget, they have pretty good steaks at decent prices. I used to love them when I was younger and I hit them up once in a while. Better steakhouses out there, but I don't wanna bust your wallet.
Queen of Sheba (650 10 th Ave. Manhattan). GREAT Ethiopian food. My friend is a vegan and she took us out to this place one night. Love their spicy lentils. They're pretty reasonably priced as well.

Capt. Yes Juniors did once in fact have the best cheescake in the country but I recently had their strawberry cheescake (I think it was Christmas time) and it did not taste the same as is used to.

How bout you bring your ass back home? Then again, maybe you wouldn't want to. It's not quite the same now like we were growing up.
