    Robert K. Tanenbaum a former prosecutor that never lost a case, writes legal thriller novels. His new releases usually hit the Best Seller List.

    Dick Francis a former winning jockey wrote great novels about horse racing. I loved them all. Usually on the Best Seller List.

    M.E. Beaton In my opinion, her best books were the Hamish McBeth series about a Scot policeman in northern Scotland. I don't care for her Agatha Raisen series.

    John Grisham A lawyer writing legal thriller novels. Great stories. Always on the Best Seller List.

    Janet Evanovich Writes the Stephanie Plum novels that are always fun.

    Tony Hillerman A journalist that wrote the Joe Leaphorn, Jim Chee series of murder mysteries set on the Navajo Reservation involving tribal police. Good reading and an accurate insight into Navajo culture.

    Other favorites include Robert Heinlien (science fiction), Arthur C. Clark(science fiction), Louis L'Amour (over 100 westerns).
