We used to do this back on AOL, where we'd have an 'awards' based on different categories. Like 'Friendliest Poster,' 'Funniest Poster,' 'Most Serious Poster,' 'Most Informative Poster,' etc., etc. Would anyone be interested in having a mock award ceremony?

I guess what we can do is come up with categories and posters who fit under each, then later vote. PM me and I'll tabulate all the votes.

Sounds like a fun idea to me There are awards like that all the time on Baby Gaga, although they are funny ones like "C*nt of the month" or "Biggest FAIL" or "Most likely to sell her food stamps to buy drugs" lol.

I recently won most naturally beautiful But that was just a popularity contest and I only won by 2 votes, lol. I don't enter them on there any more because the twins would always win and I finally stopped keeping the siggies that I would get for winning because I had so many they would make my profile too slow, but someone nominated me for that one. The twins always won because they were so cute though, of course.

OT ?:Chris, how do you decide who to invite here when you go to other forums and invite people? Do you just invite as many as you can or something?

I agree This is a smaller board and the potential for hurt feelings is probably bigger. I never nominate anyone for mean awards anyway, plus the people on BG are pretty stupid. Probably 85% of the people on there are annoying, but the other 15% keep me going back because they are other moms in the same position that I am in, or at least that I can relate to.

I'd be able to come up with some good categories!

Nope. I definitely read up on who I invite; even if it means looking at their posting history. I forgot how I found BG, but often times when I do a google search for things like smiley's or news stories, I am inadvertently led to other forums. From there, I browse.

Just a thought...Since I see a few new names here this week, maybe at the end of all this category voting, you could also mention the person with the most posts that joined since Jan 1. That way, we are not totally excluding our new friends and we can encourage them to post more so we can get to know them better.

I get a nom in two categories. I feel special.

What about Most Opinionated Member?

'Most Opinionated' is a good one FM. Yeah, let's add that one too. BTW, I agree Red; don't want to exclude any new members who may fit into a criteria here, despite not having had the chance to spread their wings here yet.
