    Who Remembers Jacques Tati

Among Frances most adored actors and one of the greatest directors, although he has but a few films (9) to his credit. His work took place during the talking era, although he has been compared to Chaplin and Keaton.

"The Illusionist" is directed, written and illustrated by another amassing French director named Sylvain Chomet, who's previous made "The Triplets of Belleville", which received an Oscar nominations in 2003. He (IMO) set the standard for animation films.

The new release is based on an unpublished and unproduced script by Jacques Tati. It follows an aging and washed-up magician who travels Europe in hopes that he can revive his career, while friendship develops with a young girl, who reawakens his lost dreams.

Mr. Chomet uses his talented ability with his hand drawn art. "Toy Story 3" and "How To Train Your Dragon" have also been nominated for this years Best Animated Feature Film. There is no comparison nor any of the Pixel films, which have won previously. Mr. Chomet would give Walt Disney a run for his money. Unfortunately, "Toy Story 3" won best in animation.

Who Remembers Jacques Tati? I bet Supernova does. She really liked Mon Oncle. As for The Illusionist, thanks for the recommendation, Jack. It looks very interesting. Is it in English?
