I don't like to step on the break so I prefer the open road.

It depends on my mood. I'm not the "leave early" type and am prone to being late, so expressways are usually mandatory in my situation.

I love long highway drives. I live in Manhattan and I hate the stop and go of the city, but once I'm out on the open road, it quite relaxing for me.

A few years ago I took a trip across Florida where my son-in-law and I were supposed to share driving. I hogged the wheel all the time both ways.
I used to enjoy long cross country trips - even all the way to San Francisco from Atlanta in a VW bug and a 4K mile road trip in the summer of '73 on a motorcycle (but I was much younger then).

I like the highway, of course we never have to stay on it too long.

If I'm familiar with the it and have a good gist of where I'm going, then I prefer the highway over the street.

I prefer highways particularly mountain roads, always something new around every corner. I loved the highways through the Rockies in Colorado.

I prefer the Highway, we have so many here in NY. Every now and then I go the scenic route stop and go.

It's almost impossible to avoid the freeway although I wish it were possible. I'd rather weave my way through the monkeys at the zoo.

Prefer it. Highways are quicker and I need to get where I have to go. However, I will take the side streets and avoid the highway if I know it's going to be jam packed. Which is a lot of the time.

Driving on the highway is soothing on a Sunday morning or Saturday afternoon, when there's no traffic.
