| Question: What mundane tasks do you enjoy doing that others don't seem to enjoy?
My list seems pretty weird after talking with my coworkers about the topic.
Excel Spreadsheets. The margins? The borders? Colors? Fonts? These things need to match exactly. I spent a good portion of last November fixing company reports and standardized forms and carefully cycling them into the system so others would hopefully use them instead of sending ugly error-riddled shit.
I also like cutting the grass and ironing

| I like cleaning the house, cutting the grass and keeping the yard clean. I have a gardener now only because I don't have time to do it anymore, my weekends are always full it seems and you don't mow your lawn at night around here LOL. | |

| Another grass cutter. lol I've been known to mow it more than once a week. Especially during the fall; when the leaves come down. I'm not good with rakes, but I have fun mowing over them with the mower. | |

Yeah I used to mulch the leaves every fall with the mower, there are Oak Trees on my neighbors property and you would not believe the amount of leaves that fall into my yard.

| Folding socks. I love matching and folding my socks. They get placed one on top of the other with the toes facing to the left, folded in half with fold facing me and placed in stacks of four or five. I totally flip out when people screw with my sock drawer. And yes my entire wardrobe storage area is meticulously organized. | |

I have cut the grass at night. I use a reel mower. There aren't any mundane tasks that I actually enjoy, but I don't mind sweeping floors as much as the average person.

| When I was pregnant with my second I LOVED mowing the lawn...There I was mowing with my first on my back, 9 months pregnant, and when mine was short enough, the next day I'd go mow my neighbors lawn too...It was really satisfying for some reason.
I like folding cloth diapers and taking care of kids, and breastfeeding. Many people hate those things but not me.

| I like (house)painting and I'm good at it. Nothing like a spiffy new paint job to make things look better. I also enjoy doing minor repairs and renovations around the house. Last Spring, I managed to salvage some heavy timbers from a walking bridge renovation here in town and used the timbers to build a really attractive planter in front of the house. | |

| Hand washing pots and pans. For me it becomes a dance of time and motion within a closed system. It is my added joy to include cleaning sections of the kitchen. The 'containers' for the challenge are the time it takes for my kettle to boil and the tea to brew, alternatively, the time it takes for my espresso machine to boil, run to semi cool, then boil again. The art is to attend to graceful motion around the kitchen, and in handling and processing the objects. | |

I admire the way you go about it. It becomes a challenge to do even the most mundane chores with elegance and grace, satisfaction in your performance is your reward.

| If it weren't for having to move tables and furniture out of the way, mopping wouldn't bother me. | |

| Oooh. The one thing that my peers never seem to do (which I love doing) is organizing music. Whether it be their CD collections or their digital collections, I need to make sure that it's perfect in every way. If I grab a friend's iPod and it's lists the following artists:
Kanye Wet Kanye West Kanye West feat. Jay-Z, Janet Jackson, Brandy, John Denver kanye West feat. Nicki Minaj kany west (produced by liza minelli)
...and NONE of these songs have correct album art... I will spend hours fixing their library. A clean and organized library is a happy library.

I like my music library organized too. All the songs are going to be under one artist.....I won't separated them by artist and guest artist. That makes it too convoluted.

Not just record labels, but the actual music corporations. Then I would break it down alphabetically and by year of release. CDs released by a Warner Music Group label (WBR, Atlantic, Elektra, etc.) would all be together. CDs released by a Universal Music Group label (MCA, Interscope, Motown, Geffen, Def Jam, etc) all be together. CDs released by Sony (Columbia, Epic) would all be together. CDs released by BMG (Arista, Jive, RCA) would all be together. What would ANNOY me was when an artist switched labels....their last CD was released by Capitol, and their latest on Epic. Then I had to ignore my rule and go with what the majority of their catalog was released on. Janet did that shit when she switched from A&M to Virgin. Just screwed up my whole system.
