Not particularly. I've been a Dunkin man for years if I'm not drinking home brew. I've tried Starbucks and I always thought it smelled/tasted a little on the burned side. I'm sure there are fans who disagree and even think DD is putrid.

I hate coffee, and I don't like Starbucks either. On a side note, does anyone know how much it costs to actually get a coffee from their shops? My mother heard it was $7 or $8 a cup.

That's my hangup--cost. If I want to spend that much for a drink, I'll go to a bar.

I love their coffee and coffee drinks. But, they are just too pricey for me to go there more than once or twice per year.

Near my movie theater we have a Starbucks and Dunkin on opposite corners. After the movie I like to stop by Dunkin and get a decaf and coffee cake muffin.

One day it was too busy so I walked across the street to Starbucks and the guy told me they DON'T HAVE DECAF IN THE AFTERNOON! When the hell else would you have decaf. I get out of the movie around 3 pm. If I drink regular coffee I will be twitching all night so after noon I drink only decaf.

So, no I seldom go to Starbucks.

That is weird, Starbucks here always has decaf, he probably just didnt want to make a fresh pot. Now if that were me I would have insisted on seeing the manager!!!!!

When I lived in Whidbey Island (which is 2 hours away from Seattle) there was coffee stands on the side of the road everywhere. I had my favorite stand that I went to at least 2-3 times a week but now that I am in the east there is no such things as on the side of the road coffee stands. There is only Starbucks, so I have to settle. Have to admit, I think Starbucks tastes a little too bitter to me but whom am I to complain. I go about 1-2 times a month

I prefer Dunkin Donuts, but there are two Starbucks right near my office. It depends on how much time I have for a "coffee break".

If I go "out" for coffee, it's Starbucks or local mom & pop cafes. Neither DH nor I like Dunkin Donuts' coffee. It's acidic and watery, IMO, which is probably why most Dunkin drinkers fill up their coffees with cream and sugar. I actually like the way COFFEE tastes. Smile

And no, Starbucks does not charge $7-8 for a cup of coffee. I don't know exact prices, because I usually make coffee at home (also Starbucks). But it's probably between $2.50-$4 for a cup of regular coffee, depending on size.

I mean I like them, but I'm not addicted to them. My co-worker is obsessed with Starbucks. That's all she wants and she's always begging everyone in the office to go pick it up for her and she'll buy them one. She doesn't even eat, she just drinks White Chocolate Mocha all day long. Sometimes its annoying how much she talks about Starbucks. When I do get Starbucks, I get a Peppermint Mocha.

I am currently ADDICTED to their espresso drinks and pastries, and have to have at least two of each every day. But I really hate the ambiance. It's so cold and uncomfortable, the exact opposite of what coffee shops should be.

In addition to being overpriced, their coffee tastes burnt. If you get something like a Caramel Macchiato, there's so much sugar syrup in it, you can't taste the coffee.

It obviously depends on who's making it. Caramel Macchiatos have somewhat a bitter aftertaste to me. They've never been too sweet whenever I got 'em. Which is what I like. I can't stand too sweet drinks.

I personally think Starbucks is overrated, and I am not a big fan of most of their products (notably their frappucinos and lattes, which I think are positively disgusting.) Nevertheless, the chain does have its strong points. For coffee, I prefer Dunkin Donuts.
