Would you believe Matthew McConaughey doesn't take off his shirt. And that he can act. One of his best performances since "A Time To Kill". A decent piece of storytelling that keeps you around until the end. Unfortunately, you will be disappointed if you have read the Michael Connelly novel. A pot-boiler that is very difficult from book to screen. Still worth your time, with a very good supporting cast.
Somewhat of an old-fashion smooth talking not always honest, but relatable LA defense attorney. You might even think of him as an ambulance chaser. He lives off of defending the low-life of the city. That is, until one day he asked to defend a client with loads of money. This film is about many characters, but mostly a client-attorney relationship. Like with OJ the bad guys don't always end up in the slammer.
