When it comes to lethal injection

If someone was sentenced to die by lethal injection, should they and their family have the option of bringing in their own anesthesiologist to put them to sleep peacefully? I've heard horror stories where the executioner got the dosage wrong and the person must have suffered unspeakable pain because of it. Although I do feel that the death penalty is completely wrong, for those who have no chance of escaping it, should they be allowed to bring in their own doctors to create the mixture and properly medically anesthetize someone?

If insurance would pay for it, then I guess....but finding a doctor who would be willing to do this probably wouldn't be all that easy.

I think it makes more sense just to hang them than buy all those expensive drugs.

I don't think it matters. The end result would still be the same. If someone is experiencing pain from lethal injection, I think it's a bit silly to say "okay, you can get your own doc so you can die peacefully". He/she shouldn't be dying at all.
